Starting on September 17 in Detroit and concluding on November 13 in Los Angeles, the band aims to present a series of performances covering Sting’s entire career during several evenings at smaller venues across North America. This includes a special two-night performance at the Masonic in San Francisco on November 6-7. Joining the former frontman of The Police are guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas.
Tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday.
The Sting 3.0 tour comes after a European tour scheduled from May to August. In addition, Sting’s 2024 schedule features several stadium dates alongside Billy Joel, with the inaugural performance having taken place last month in Tampa, Florida.
Sting Believes He’ll Still Tour At 80
Sting, recently sharing the details of his upcoming tour believes he would still be touring at the age of 80.
Starting his music career in his late 20s, the former frontman of The Police expressed his willingness to emulate Paul McCartney’s lead by headlining the Glastonbury festival in the UK when he reaches 80 years old – which is eight years away. When asked about the prospect of performing at Glastonbury in the summer of 2032, Sting responded:
“Well, it’s not that far away. Why not? I’m not wearing a corset or anything. As long as I can get into my rock star pants, I’ll be fine.”
The singer outlined his dedication to his craft, which has kept him engaged in writing, recording, and touring, showing no signs of waning anytime soon:
“You want to stay in the game as long as possible, like tennis – just one more round and one more game. I’m competitive. I want to get better as a songwriter. I want to improve and I want to keep learning, and I think that’s what keeps me going – just the idea that you can do better.
