Mick Mars recently unveiled his debut solo single ‘Loyal to the Lie’ and spoke to Metal Hammer to warn his fanbase, implying time has a fleeting nature.

Mars’ New Single and Upcoming Album ‘The Other Side of Mars’

Mars’ ‘Loyal to the Lie’ marks his first musical endeavor since his split from Mötley Crüe. This release comes as a precursor to his upcoming solo album, ‘The Other Side of Mars,’ which is scheduled to hit the shelves on February 23, 2024, under Mars’ own label, 1313 LLC.

‘The Other Side of Mars’ promises a rich musical collaboration featuring vocalist Jacob Bunton, bassist Chris Collier, keyboardist Paul Taylor, and drummer Ray Luzier, with singer Brion Gamboa making appearances on two tracks. It also features songs such as ‘Killing Breed,’ ‘Broken on the Inside,’ ‘Alone,’ ‘Lonely in Your Grave,’ ‘Decay,’ ‘Fear,’ ‘Memories,’ and ‘Erased.’

Revealing his wish to maximize his creative output, Mars admitted he knows he has a limited time remaining:

“I wanted to do something that was just big and mean. People are going to hear my tone — my sound. I am what I am. Nobody else can do it. And like everyone, I’ve got a limited number of years. So, I’m gonna do all I can to do a lot of stuff.”

He then admitted that he always saw the path ahead of him clearly, with or without the Crüe:

“When it comes to my playing, there’s the Mötley side and the Mars side. Either way, I always have a very clear vision of what I want to do.”

Mars has been straightforward about the challenges concerning his health. This has influenced his decision to step back from touring, although he admitted he remains open to limited live performances. Indicating he prefers one-off shows, Mars said:

“I’m done touring. If somebody really, really wants a one-off or a couple of nights, I would probably do it. But all that travel stuff and planes, I’m way over it.”

The lead-up to the album’s release has been marred by a public dispute with former bandmate Nikki Sixx, who accused Mars of misleading fans to promote his solo work. Besides, there were misconceptions regarding his album’s title, but Mars recently corrected them in a tweet.
