Gene Simmons Declares Himself ‘The Great American Dream’

KISS is nearing the end of its ‘End of the Road World Tour’ with its last show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 2nd. When ET asked Gene Simmons how he feels about the tour coming to an end, the rocker expressed how he is living the American dream by saying:

“Great, great, grateful. There is a great sense of pride, the idea that anybody would give me a chance I came from Isreal, I know I don’t look Swiss so the idea of coming here… The great American dream it’s literally alive and well and I’m living proof.”

He shared that after being on stage for this long, he prefers to retire ‘before it’s too late.’ The rocker added:

“To be able to get a job that allows you to wear more makeup and higher heels than you ever wore and get paid well for it, it doesn’t get better than that. But when you have been doing it for 50 years half a century have a little dignity, and get off the stage before it’s too late. So, [I’m] still looking good. Hair’s there. A little less hair, but it’s there.”

Simmons not only talked about his restaurant chain, but also mentioned his production company that is working on a new movie. He explained:

“Well, we actually have a restaurant chain called Rock & Brews two at LAX as a matter of fact, and across North America. I have a film company Simmons/Hamilton [Productions]. We just started ‘Deep Water’ with Sir Ben Kingsley Academy Award winner, Aaron Eckhart, Renny Harlin is directing so I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”

Simmons had mentioned that he was working on ‘Deep Water’ with Renny Harlin as the director, in a previous interview with Variety. Gene shared that with film executive Gary Hamilton, who happens to be an expert of the film industry, on his side, he is excited to produce their first action film together.
