Al Kaline has passed away at age 85 in Bloomfield Hills, the Free Press is reporting. Cause of death is unknown. He played 22 seasons with the Tigers leading the team in games played and the most home runs in team history. He was elected to the Baseball Hall Of Fame in Cooperstown in 1980 in his first year of eligibility. After his career he entered the broadcast booth and later served as a special assistant in the Tigers front office.
