The Scream That Started It All In Seattle

April 16th 1991 was the beginning of a juggernaut in the comfortable wailing guitar world of Rock N Roll. The 80's was exciting...all hair and decadence, but little did the Motley Crues and Wingers see the wave that was cresting on the Seattle music scene. In the OK Hotel, the location for the 90's coming of age film 'Singles' and favorite proving ground for new bands and artists, Nirvana took the stage performing a mix of moody cathartic songs that would comprise their first album and toward the end of the set, a new song, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. That night launched a fleet of a new version of Rock N Roll. Kurt's gone, Dave's a Foo Fighter and the Ok Hotel, which endured the birth of Grunge that night was reduced to rubble by an earthquake, but the song remains the same, an anthem of the 90's.
